Fly into Paro by Druk Air, where you’ll be greeted by stunning views of the snowcapped Himalayan peaks. As the plane descends into Paro valley, you’ll catch sight of Paro Dzong overlooking the river and Ta Dzong, the National Museum, perched above. After being welcomed by your guide, check into your hotel and visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong, both rich in history and culture. Spend the evening exploring Paro town or relaxing at your hotel. After breakfast, travel to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and embark on a full day of sightseeing. Visit the National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (Painting School), the National Folk Heritage Museum, and the Textile Museum to immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture. Experience the bustling Centenary Farmers’ Market and explore the Takin Preserve. End the day with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang and Buddha Point for a panoramic view of the Thimphu valley. After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Eastern Himalayas. Visit the 108 chortens at the pass and the Druk Wangyel Temple. In Punakha, explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, strategically located between the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, and visit the Dho Jha Gha Lam Temple. After breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. The hike to the viewpoint takes about 2 hours, offering spectacular views of the monastery perched on a cliff. Continue the hike to the monastery itself, a sacred site where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated. After visiting the monastery, descend and visit Kichu Temple on the way back to your hotel. Overnight in Paro.
