Arrive in Paro and enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s modern capital. Explore the town in the evening and stay overnight in Thimphu.
Spend the day visiting key sites in Thimphu, including the National Library, Institute for Zorig Chusum, and the King’s Memorial Chorten. Explore Changangkha Lhakhang and Trashichhoedzong before shopping for local crafts. Overnight in Thimphu.
Drive to Gangtey via the scenic Dochu-la Pass, where you can see stunning views of Himalayan peaks. Visit Gangtey Monastery and explore the beautiful Phobjikha Valley, home to the rare Black-necked Cranes in winter. Overnight in Gangtey.
Begin your trek with a 14 km hike from Gangtey to Gogona, passing through meadows, forests of juniper, bamboo, and rhododendrons. Cross Tsele La Pass and descend to Gogona, where you’ll camp overnight.
Continue your trek with a 15 km hike to Khotokha, climbing through forests of firs, oak, and spruce before descending into the Khotokha Valley. Camp overnight in Khotokha.
