Upon arrival at Paro, you will be greeted by our representative who will be your guide throughout the tour. After a scenic drive to Thimphu, you’ll check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, and the Centenary Farmers’ Market, where you can interact with locals and see a wide variety of local produce. The day ends with a visit to Tashichhoedzong, a historic fortress and monastery. In the evening, enjoy a stroll around Thimphu town, exploring handicraft stores and mingling with locals. Overnight at your hotel in Thimphu.
After breakfast, depart for Punakha, traveling through the stunning Dochula Pass where you can take in panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains. Stop at the 108 chortens and visit the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang. Continue to Wangdue, visiting the Divine Madman’s Monastery—Chhimi Lhakhang, known for its fertility blessings. After lunch, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. The day concludes with a visit to local markets in Punakha. After breakfast, travel back to Paro, retracing your route via Dochula Pass. Upon arrival in Paro, check into your hotel and enjoy lunch before visiting the National Museum housed in the Ta Dzong. Explore Paro Dzong, a fine example of Bhutanese architecture, and take a leisurely stroll down to the Nyamai Zampa, one of Bhutan’s oldest traditional cantilever bridges. Spend the evening exploring Paro town, visiting local handicraft stores or simply relaxing. Overnight at your hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. The hike up to the viewpoint will take about 1.5 hours, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the monastery perched on a cliffside. Continue your hike to the monastery itself, exploring the historic site where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated. After visiting the monastery, enjoy lunch at the viewpoint cafeteria before descending. On the way back to the hotel, visit the Kichu Temple, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, built in the 7th century. Overnight at your hotel in Paro.
In the morning, you’ll be transferred to Paro airport for your departure. Your guide will see you off, marking the end of a memorable tour of Bhutan.
